"The German Shepherd Dog is the total Dog – limited only by his owners time and effort he
put forth to train and guide him." States a friend of ours Helen Gleason.

There are two different kinds of German Shepherd Dogs bred in the United States of America.

1. The American bred German Shepherd Dog. This dog is very common and is mainly a Family
and Show Dog. Very rarely you will find an American German Shepherd Dog used as a
Working Dog.

2. The German bred German Shepherd Dog. These Dogs are bred to international standards
for German Shepherd Dogs. Both parents have to have a breed survey. These dogs are not
only a great companion, they are exceptional working dogs. You will find these dogs as
Search and Rescue dogs, Red Cross Helpers. Herding Dogs, Guard Dogs, Police Dogs, Service
Dogs and a lot more.

We at Vom Geisterholz Kennels are breeding only with German bred German Shepherd Dogs.
We started breeding in Germany in 1975 and continue to breed with the same Standards
when we moved to the United States of America.
